Welcome to Walter's Wilderness Camp
  • Hunt Species:

    Black Bear and Whitetail Deer

  • Hunt Dates:

       Bear - First week in May to the first week in June

       Deer - October 1 to first Saturday in December (rifle) (muzzleloader) (archery)

  • Hunt Duration:

    6 day hunt or client's requirements

  • Guide Ratio:

    3 to 1

  • Lodging:

- modern cabins with shared rooms


- single beds 

- bedding is provided

- showers
        
- hot and cold running water

       

  • Food:

    Camp provides food and cooking

  • Transportation:

- Saskatoon airport is the closest airport to camp

- Hunters are responsible for their own transportation from the airport to the camp

- Hunters are driven to stand locations each day

  • Game Limits:

    1 Bear only

    1 Deer only
  • Weapon Choice:

    Bear - Bow only

    Deer - Rifle Muzzleloader Archery

  • Success Rate:

    Bear - 100% shot opportunities, 80% success rate
    Deer - 90% in 2010

 

  • Weather:

    Bear Season - usually lows in the 40Fs and highs in the 70Fs

    Deer Season - usually lows in the -15Fs and highs in the 20Fs

  • Terrain:

    Heavily wooded area, creek beds, river bottoms, hills
    agricultural lands, and forest fringe

  • Portable and permanent tree stands are provided by camp
  • fully-enclosed tower stands as well as ground blinds are used for deer hunting
  • Rifle hunters are required to wear an orange hat and a white or orange jacket.  There are no longer dress code requirements for pants.
  • We recommend the use of "The Heater Body Suit" for whitetail hunting. (www.heaterbodysuit.com)

  • Game processed by arrangement at local processor or processed in camp

  • Hunters must provide coolers for transporting

  • Freezers available at camp

  • **40% deposit required at time of booking, balance is due on arrival**

 

  • Must obtain approval from outfitter for people accompanying hunter

  • References available by phone from outfitter
